Victoria’s Story
Victoria, supported by EveryStory, has gained confidence through signing and physiotherapy, allowing her to express herself and make choices more independently.

Victoria has been supported by EveryStory for several years. She’s friendly and always greets people with a big smile when they say hello. Victoria enjoys music, bowling, puzzles and going out for coffee and cake.
At the day centre Victoria particularly enjoys crafting. She uses wool and glue to make vibrant cards for her family and friends. She loves to keep her nails pampered, so staff support Victoria with weekly nail painting and foot spas.
Victoria is thoughtful and softly spoken. Staff have worked with Victoria to build confidence and find new ways to express herself.
Staff introduced weekly group signing sessions using a fun matching game to practise everyday signs. Victoria now uses these signs to choose what she wants to do, socialise with others, and order her coffee and cake when she’s out. Her confidence in speaking up for herself has greatly improved. Staff are helping Victoria make more choices for herself and feel more comfortable being heard.
Victoria also takes part in a physiotherapy programme. Staff are trained using specialist equipment to deliver sessions that help her build strength and maintain her mobility.
“Victoria absolutely loves Leemore Day Centre. She gets friendship out of it and she does her one-to-one exercises. They stick together and go shopping, she comes home happy. Sometimes she gets upset because she says she wants to go back! She gets everything that she wants out of it and more.”
